In two recent surveys commissioned by ARENA and conducted by MORI, the need to comply with environmental legislation has been recognised as by far the greatest driver for environmental improvement.

This course is designed to provide attendees with a basic understanding of the nature of environmental regulation, the sources of legislation in the UK and Europe, and an overview of both the general environmental legislation affecting business and industry as well as that specific to their sector.

The course will be tailored to the requirements of the attendees and will include:

  • Key principles of UK law
  • Key features of EU legislation
  • UK regulatory controls - both general and sector specific
  • Non-compliance and liabilities
  • Future trends - both imminent and on the horizon
