IEMA Foundation Certificate
This
four day course provides delegates with an excellent overview of the issues facing those involved in environmental programmes
in the work place. It is an ideal "crash course" for
those with little or no experience of the issues or have
recently been given responsibility for the environmental management
of their organisation. Otherwise someone who has had a narrow
experience of environmental management system, such as Green
Dragon or ISO 14001, without the wider contextual knowledge, which is
often essential, to making a system work effectively and achieve continual improvement.
Included in the cost of the course is the first year's Affiliate membership of IEMA (Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment), the UK's leading professional institute for those working
in the environmental field.
Course Content
- Sustainable business thinking e.g. waste minimisation
- Legislation
- Assessing environmental performance - e.g. environmental auditing, aspects and impacts.
- Environmental Management Systems - e.g. Green Dragon and ISO 14001
- The content of the course is delivered by a variety of means e.g. videos, lecture, discussion and group exercises
Who should attend?
People involved in company environmental improvement programmes and / or environmental management systems,
particularly those with no formal education or training in the environmental issues facing business.
