Environmental Law - Environmental Licences

A considerable amount of environmental legislation impacts generally on business, a substantial element relates to activity-specific controls which apply to works, processes and installations so as to limit their polluting effect.

This course is designed to provide an in-depth understanding of the nature of those controls, adopting a "cradle to grave" approach from the pre-application stage right through to the cessation of operations. The course can be tailored to meet the specific requirements of individual companies

Course Content

  • Background to pollution control
  • Strategic concepts of pollution control
  • Future pollution control legislation
  • Specific controls:
    • Consents to discharge to water courses and sewers
    • Waste management / carrier licences and exemptions
    • IPC authorisations / PPC permits
    • LAAPC authorisations / permits

Directors, managers and othersresponsible for environmental compliance in companies which are or may become subject to such environmental controls.
