Waste Management
ARENA Network is pleased to announce a new one day waste training course designed to provide companies with an understanding of the legislation surrounding waste disposal and how this will affect them with regard to correct waste disposal.
The course has been designed in response to the recent changes in waste management legislation:
- The new Waste Acceptance Criteria will come into force from July 2005 and are applicable to inert and hazardous wastes. Do your wastes meet WAC?
- The use of European Waste Catalogue (EWC) codes on waste transfer notes is now compulsory, whether the waste is hazardous or not.
- Co-disposal of hazardous and non hazardous wastes is now banned and there are no hazardous waste landfill sites in Wales - as a result, waste management costs are rising.
This one day course is delivered as a mixture of lectures, discussion and practical workshop exercises. It provides delegates with an understanding of waste classification and the waste acceptance criteria.
Included in the cost of the course is a CD-Rom containing the Consolidated European Waste Catalogue, the WM2 technical guidance (Hazardous Waste) from the Environment Agency and course notes.
